How this calculator works

This calculator estimates basic UK statutory redundancy pay using age, weekly pay and full years of service.

Statutory redundancy pay normally requires at least 2 years’ continuous employment. The calculation uses half a week’s pay for each full year worked when aged under 22, 1 week’s pay for each full year worked when aged 22 to 40, and 1.5 weeks’ pay for each full year worked when aged 41 or over.

Only up to 20 years of service can be counted for statutory redundancy pay. For redundancies on or after 6 April 2026, weekly pay is capped at £751 and the maximum statutory redundancy payment is £22,530.

The results are estimates only. This calculator does not check employment status, contractual redundancy pay, enhanced redundancy schemes, notice dates, tax, settlement agreements, suitable alternative employment or special circumstances.
