Accounts Assistant – Farnham – £28k-£35k– Full-Time (Part-Time considered)

The Role
The successful Accounts Assistant will support the managers and partners within the business services and accounts department, assisting with the effective management of a portfolio of bookkeeping and accounting clients, alongside supporting with ad hoc assignments as required.
This is a varied Accounts Assistant role offering exposure to bookkeeping, management accounts, VAT, year-end accounts preparation and client communication within a professional practice environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide bookkeeping services for a varied portfolio of clients
- Process and pay bills accurately and in a timely manner
- Prepare VAT returns and tax computations
- Produce monthly and quarterly management accounts
- Prepare year-end financial accounts from both internal bookkeeping records and client records
- Ensure all statutory returns are completed and submitted on time
- Assist with organising and managing workflow effectively
- Support managers and partners with ad hoc projects and assignments
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with clients and colleagues
- Maintain accurate, organised and high-quality work at all times
About You
- Previous bookkeeping or accounts experience is preferred, although training can be provided
- Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Excellent attention to detail with a methodical and accurate approach to work
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with a professional manner
- Strong numerical ability and a high standard of written English
- IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience using bookkeeping software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or Iris would be advantageous
- A willingness and desire to continue developing technical knowledge and software skills
- Able to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team environment
