Job Title: Warehouse Operations Manager – PM Shift Location: Dunstable Distribution Centre Reports to: Assistant Distribution Centre Manager Department: Logistics / Supply Chain Salary: £65,500 with an additional £6,500 car allowance
Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Operations Manager with drive, passion, and resilience to lead key logistics functions including Goods In and Goods Out, FLT, RRU, Assembly, Stock Maintenance, and Replenishment. You will manage cross-functional teams across all shifts, ensuring service level agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved while driving operational excellence and continuous improvement. A critical requirement for this role is strong people and performance management capability. You will be accountable for setting clear expectations, developing high-performing individuals and teams, and confidently addressing underperformance through effective coaching, corrective action, and formal performance management processes where required.
Key Responsibilities: Chair or support key meetings including H&S briefings, operational updates, and employee forums. Oversee day-to-day warehouse operations including Goods In & Goods out, FLT, RRU, Dispatch, Loading/unloading and Assembly. Drive performance through KPI tracking, cost control, and continuous improvement. Develop team capability through coaching, performance reviews, and succession planning. Collaborate with senior managers and cross-functional teams to align on warehouse strategies and logistics goals. Ensure health and safety compliance across all warehouse activities. Maintain stock accuracy, lead PI (Perpetual Inventory) processes, and meet auditor requirements. Monitor site facilities, labour planning, and supplier contracts for operational efficiency. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to enhance warehouse productivity and customer satisfaction.
Key Skills & Experience: Demonstrable experience managing both high performance and underperformance in a fast-paced operational environment Proven leadership in a fast-paced warehouse or distribution environment. Strong communication, analytical, and decision-making skills. Experience in driving cost efficiency, team performance, and operational improvements. Ability to manage resources effectively across multiple teams and shifts. Solid understanding of warehouse management systems and supply chain operations. Demonstrated success in motivating teams and managing change.
Health & Safety Responsibilities: Promote a safety-first culture across all warehouse teams. Comply with health and safety regulations and reporting requirements.
