MIG and TIG Welder/Fabricator

Introduction
We're looking for a skilled Workshop MIG and TIG Welder/Fabricator to join a busy fabrication shop.
This is hands-on bench + jig work fabricating structural steel and aluminium components from CAD/engineering drawings.
Key Duties
- Fabricate items from CAD drawings and engineering drawings – cutting, fitting, and assembly.
- MIG weld structural steel and aluminium to a high standard.
- Work on heavier steel fabrications and larger assemblies.
- Set up and use jigs/fixtures to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
- Interpret engineering drawings and specs – tolerances, weld symbols, BOMs.
- Work to drawing dimensions, keep workshop tidy, and follow H&S procedures.
Requirements
- MIG welding experience on structural steel AND aluminium – essential.
- Engineering drawings – you can read and interpret without hand-holding.
- Experience fabricating heavier steel sections, not just light gauge.
- Confident using jigs/fixtures for production runs.
- Workshop-based, team player, flexible attitude.

- Flexible hours – start/finish times can be discussed but normally 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
- No site work workshop based.
- £35,000-£42,000 / £17-£19 per hour.
