Introduction

We're looking for a skilled Workshop MIG and TIG Welder/Fabricator to join a busy fabrication shop.

This is hands-on bench + jig work fabricating structural steel and aluminium components from CAD/engineering drawings.

Key Duties

  • Fabricate items from CAD drawings and engineering drawings – cutting, fitting, and assembly.
  • MIG weld structural steel and aluminium to a high standard.
  • Work on heavier steel fabrications and larger assemblies.
  • Set up and use jigs/fixtures to ensure accuracy and repeatability.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and specs – tolerances, weld symbols, BOMs.
  • Work to drawing dimensions, keep workshop tidy, and follow H&S procedures.

Requirements

  • MIG welding experience on structural steel AND aluminium – essential.
  • Engineering drawings – you can read and interpret without hand-holding.
  • Experience fabricating heavier steel sections, not just light gauge.
  • Confident using jigs/fixtures for production runs.
  • Workshop-based, team player, flexible attitude.

What We Offer

  • Full time or 4-day working week – for better work/life balance.
  • Flexible hours – start/finish times can be discussed but normally 8am-5pm Monday to Friday.
  • No site work workshop based.
  • £35,000-£42,000 / £17-£19 per hour.

If you're a solid welder/fab who likes working from drawings and building proper heavy-duty kit, we'd love to hear from you.
