About the role
In this post, you'll be working one-on-one with a young person on an EHCP. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN professional or someone passionate about supporting children with diverse educational needs in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities * Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with special educational needs * Assist the class teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and interventions * Support pupils with their academic, social, emotional, and personal development * Help implement and monitor Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) and individual learning targets * Encourage positive behaviour and support pupils in developing independence and confidence * Adapt resources and learning materials to meet individual pupil needs * Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, therapists, and parents/carers * Support pupils with personal care requirements where necessary * Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and behaviour * Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and welfare requirements are always met
Requirements * Previous experience working with children with special educational needs in a school or educational setting * Understanding of a range of SEN, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, speech and language needs, and social, emotional, and mental health needs * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers * Patient, empathetic, and resilient approach * Good organisational and time-management skills * Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures * Relevant qualifications in education, childcare, or SEN support (preferred) * Positive, proactive, and professional attitude
