1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant – Milton Keynes (Primary School)

Salary: Competitive daily rate (dependent on experience)

We are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Milton Keynes that is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 2 pupil from September 2026. This is a highly rewarding role where you will play a key part in a child's educational journey by providing consistent, tailored support throughout the school day.
This position would suit someone with experience in education, childcare, care work, or support settings who is patient, empathetic, and committed to helping children reach their full potential.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with special educational needs
- Supporting access to learning activities both inside and outside the classroom
- Working closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and parents to ensure consistent support
- Implementing strategies outlined in the pupil's EHCP or individual support plan
- Encouraging development of communication, social skills, confidence, and independence
- Supporting emotional regulation and promoting positive behaviour for learning
- Adapting activities and resources to meet the child's individual needs
- Monitoring progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has a genuine passion for supporting children with SEND
- Is patient, nurturing, and empathetic in their approach
- Can build strong, trusting relationships with young children
- Has good communication and teamwork skills
- Is proactive, flexible, and able to respond to changing needs
- Ideally has experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, SEMH, or additional learning needs
- Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
