Accountant / Bookkeeper Location: Remote / 1 day in myafair per month Salary: Competitive PART TIME: 24 hours per week (flexible within core working hours) Permanent We're exclusively partnering with a prestigious art gallery that has been established for over 30 years. As the business enters an exciting new chapter, this is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Bookkeeper or Accountant to play a key role in supporting the financial operations of a well-respected business. This is a varied position offering plenty of autonomy, combining remote flexibility with the opportunity to work closely with the Directors in a unique and specialist industry. Key Responsibilities • Manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and finance function • Process sales and purchase ledger transactions • Carry out bank reconciliations across GBP and foreign currency accounts • Manage supplier payments and payment runs • Produce monthly management accounts and P&L forecasts • Maintain the nominal ledger and complete stock reconciliations • Prepare debtor and creditor reports • Process payroll and staff expenses • Prepare VAT returns and liaise with external accountants during year-end • Produce monthly cashflow forecasts and financial reports • Support the Directors with day-to-day financial queries and reporting • Ensure accurate financial records are maintained across all business activities
Requirements • AAT qualified, part-qualified, fully qualified, or Qualified by Experience (QBE) • Previous experience in a Bookkeeper or Accountant position • Excellent understanding of bookkeeping principles and management accounts • Strong knowledge of VAT processes and financial reporting • Experience using Sage, Xero or similar accounting software
