Accounts Manager
Location: Birmingham (Hybrid Working Available)

Reporting to: Directors / Senior Leadership Team
The Role
We are working with a well-established accountancy practice seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to take ownership of a varied client portfolio while leading a small team. This is a key role focused on delivering high-quality accounts, tax and advisory services while ensuring excellent client relationships and efficient workflow management.
This position offers a genuine blend of technical delivery, client advisory work and team leadership, with strong scope for progression within a growing and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of limited companies, partnerships and sole traders
- Review statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporation tax computations
- Act as the main point of contact for key clients, providing proactive advice
- Oversee workflow, deadlines and quality control across the accounts team
- Support and develop junior and senior team members through coaching and review
- Identify opportunities for advisory work and additional services
- Liaise with senior leadership on client and technical matters
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal procedures
About You
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or qualified by experience within practice
- Strong background in UK accountancy practice with portfolio management experience
- Confident reviewing accounts, tax returns and management information
- Proven ability to supervise and develop team members
- Strong communication skills and commercial awareness
- Comfortable managing deadlines and multiple client priorities
