Gravitate
We're working with an exciting and fast-growing consumer brands business to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This isn't your typical transactional finance role. Working closely with an experienced Financial Controller, you'll gain exposure across the entire finance function, from purchase ledger and sales ledger through to month-end reporting, financial controls, forecasting and commercial finance.
The business is growing quickly, and they're looking for someone who wants to grow with them.
For this role, personality is just as important as experience.
They're looking for someone who's naturally curious, eager to learn and excited by the opportunity to build a career within finance. If you're someone who asks questions, enjoys solving problems and isn't afraid to get stuck in, you'll fit right in.
The Role
You'll support the day-to-day finance function while developing your accounting knowledge across a wide variety of responsibilities, including:
- Purchase ledger and supplier payments
- Sales invoicing and credit control
- Bank reconciliations
- Journals, accruals and prepayments
- Month-end reporting
- VAT returns
- Financial reporting and analysis
- Forecasting support
- Finance projects and process improvements
- Supporting multiple businesses within the wider group
This is the type of role where your responsibilities will continue to evolve as your confidence and experience grow.
About You
We're much more interested in who you are than simply what's on your CV.
The ideal candidate might be a recent Accounting & Finance graduate (or someone with an AAT qualification or some finance experience) who is looking for an environment where they can learn, develop and build a long-term career.
You'll be someone who:
- Has a genuine interest in finance and accounting
- Is naturally inquisitive and enjoys learning
- Picks up new concepts quickly
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Enjoys solving problems rather than simply identifying them
- Is organised and able to prioritise competing tasks
- Works well independently while also enjoying being part of a team
- Communicates confidently with colleagues across the business
- Thrives in a fast-paced, growing environment
- Has a positive, proactive attitude and enjoys taking ownership
Above all else, we're looking for someone with the right mindset and attitude. Technical skills can be taught—we're looking for someone who is keen to learn and develop.
What's on Offer?
- Salary up to £35,000
- Hybrid working (typically 4 days per week in our Holborn office)
- Exceptional exposure across the finance function
- The opportunity to support multiple growing businesses
- Genuine career progression
- A collaborative, ambitious and supportive culture where you'll be encouraged to develop
