The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Assistant to join the finance team of a well-established and highly successful organisation based in Chesterfield.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous transactional finance experience who is looking to develop their career within a supportive, fast-paced and collaborative business. You'll become part of a close-knit finance team where you'll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting responsibilities while contributing to the smooth running of the finance function.
The Role
Reporting into the Finance team, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring financial information is processed accurately and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include:

Processing and coding high volumes of purchase invoices accurately.

Reconciling supplier statements and resolving any discrepancies.

Investigating and resolving supplier invoice queries.

Building strong working relationships with suppliers and internal departments.

Allocating incoming and outgoing payments to customer and supplier accounts.

Assisting with payment runs in line with company procedures.

Supporting the wider finance team with ad hoc finance and administrative duties as required.

Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring deadlines are consistently met.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience working within a transactional finance environment.

Strong Purchase Ledger and Accounts Assistant experience.

Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy.

Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.

Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
-
A proactive attitude and willingness to support the wider finance team.

The ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
