Accounts Assistant, Camberley, £28000 – £33000 doe
We’re recruiting for a motivated Accounts Assistant to join a well-established finance function. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting core accounting processes across the business. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure financial transactions are processed efficiently and deadlines are consistently met. This position offers a solid platform for someone looking to strengthen their experience within a busy finance environment.
Duties
- Handle daily financial processing, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner
- Manage supplier invoice processing, including coding and allocating spend appropriately across cost categories
- Reconcile supplier statements and ensure any discrepancies are investigated and resolved
- Post and allocate incoming and outgoing payments within the accounting system
- Assist with period-end activities, including balance reconciliations and ensuring completeness of financial data
- Support the preparation of financial reports by compiling relevant schedules and backup information
- Liaise with operational teams to ensure costs are captured correctly and reflected within financial systems
- Provide ad-hoc assistance to the Financial Controller and wider finance team when required
Candidate Profile
- Reliable and detail-focused, with a strong sense of accountability
- Numerate, with the ability to maintain accuracy across a high volume of data
- Capable of organising workload effectively and balancing multiple responsibilities
- Comfortable using Excel and finance systems as part of daily tasks
- Positive and approachable, with a team-oriented mindset
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently
Experience & Knowledge
- Prior experience within an accounts or finance support role
- Understanding of transactional finance processes such as accounts payable and receivable
- Background within an SME environment would be beneficial
- Exposure to accounting systems such as Sage or equivalent packages
