We’re partnering with a well-established and growing multi-channel retailer based in Manchester to recruit an Accounts Assistant to join their finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a finance or accounts position who is looking to develop their career within a fast-paced commercial business. You’ll become part of a supportive finance function where you’ll gain exposure to a broad range of accounting duties while working closely with experienced finance professionals.
Accounts Assistant – Responsibilities:
- Processing high volumes of purchase invoices.
- Matching, batching and coding invoices.
- Supplier statement reconciliations and resolving account queries.
- Preparing supplier payment runs.
- Bank reconciliations and cash posting.
- Assisting with sales ledger and credit control when required.
- Supporting month-end processes, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Maintaining accurate financial records across the finance system.
- Liaising with suppliers and internal departments to resolve finance queries.
- Supporting continuous improvement within finance processes.
Accounts Assistant – Experience:
- Previous experience working in an Accounts Assistant, Purchase Ledger or Finance Assistant role.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Experience using accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Microsoft Dynamics or similar.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.AAT qualifications or studies would be advantageous but are not essential.
Accounts Assistant – Renumeration:
- Salary of £28,000–£33,000 depending on experience.
- Hybrid working after probation.
- 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays.
