Accounts Payable Assistant
Worcester (Office-Based)
Salary: Up to £29,000 per annum

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Assistant to join our finance team in Worcester. This is a fully office-based position, offering the opportunity to take ownership of the end-to-end accounts payable process within a fast-paced and supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full accounts payable cycle from start to finish
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Match, batch, and code invoices in line with company procedures
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies
- Prepare and process weekly/monthly payment runs (BACS/CHAPS)
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Handle invoice queries and ensure timely resolution
- Assist with month-end processes including accruals and reporting
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the system
- Ensure compliance with company policies and financial controls
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years' experience in an Accounts Payable role
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end AP processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships
- Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
- Experience using accounting software and Excel (VLOOKUPs / pivot tables advantageous)
Desirable
- AAT qualification (or working towards)
- Experience in a high-volume or fast-paced finance function
