An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accounts Payable Officer to join a respected charity organisation based in London. This role is key in supporting the finance team with high-volume invoice processing, supplier management, and ensuring accurate and timely payments, while maintaining excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process high volumes of supplier invoices, ensuring accuracy and appropriate coding
- Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process, including matching, batching, and payment runs
- Use Sage Intacct to process transactions, maintain records, and support reporting
- Liaise with suppliers to resolve invoice queries and discrepancies in a timely manner
- Maintain and update supplier records, ensuring compliance with internal procedures
- Assist with payment runs, ensuring all payments are processed accurately and on time
- Reconcile supplier statements and investigate any variances
- Support the management of the finance inbox, responding promptly to queries
- Provide ad hoc support across Accounts Receivable, including raising invoices and monitoring incoming payments
- Ensure all transactions are recorded in line with audit requirements and financial controls
- Assist with month-end close processes, including accruals and reconciliations
- Collaborate with wider finance team to improve processes and efficiencies
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Assistant role
- Experience using Sage Intacct is essential
- Working knowledge of Accounts Receivable processes
- Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and controls
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage high volumes of work
- Confident communicator with good stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in Excel and finance systems
- Proactive, reliable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Immediately available or available at short notice
Location: West London
Working Pattern: 4 days on-site
Hours: 35 hours per week
Length: 6-week temporary contract
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: £18–20 per hour
