Reed are supporting a small but growing practice near Alton to recruit and accounts semi/Bookkeeper to join their firm.

In this friendly team you will be supporting the team manager and partner in managing their diverse portfolio of clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Accounts Preparation

  • Draft financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies.

  • Assist with management accounts and bookkeeping.

  • Complete VAT returns and reconciliations.

• Tax Work

  • Prepare corporation tax computations and returns.

  • Assist with personal tax returns for directors and individuals.

  • Support senior staff with tax planning and advisory projects.

• Audit Assignments

  • Participate in statutory audits for small and medium-sized businesses.

  • Test controls, verify balances, and prepare audit working papers.

  • Work under supervision of senior auditors, ensuring compliance with audit standards.

• Client Interaction

  • Liaise directly with clients to gather information and resolve queries.

  • Build strong relationships with a varied client base across industries.

  • Represent the practice professionally in meetings and communications.

Skills & Attributes

• Studying towards ACA/ACCA/AAT (part-qualified or finalist).

• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and tax principles.

• Good IT skills, including proficiency in accounting software.
