Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited
Accounts Senior
Halifax – Clear route for progression
There are plenty of Accounts Senior roles on the market, but not all firms offer the environment to genuinely build a long-term career.
I'm currently working with a well-established and highly regarded independent accountancy practice in Halifax that's built an excellent reputation, not just with its clients, but with its people. If you're looking for somewhere you'll be supported, recognised and given every opportunity to progress, this is well worth a conversation.
The culture is one of the biggest selling points. It's a genuinely friendly, collaborative team where Partners are approachable, everyone works together, and people enjoy coming into the office. There's no hierarchy for the sake of hierarchy-just a group of talented professionals who are invested in each other's success.
As the firm continues to grow, they're looking to appoint an Accounts Senior who wants more than just another compliance role. You'll work closely with Managers and Partners, take ownership of your own client portfolio and play an important part in mentoring junior team members, all while building towards the next stage of your career.
What you'll be doing
- Managing a varied portfolio of accounts clients across a range of sectors.
- Preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships, limited companies and charities.
- Producing corporation tax computations and VAT returns.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted day-to-day contact.
- Reviewing the work of junior staff and supporting their ongoing development.
- Assisting Managers with audit assignments on an ad hoc basis, providing valuable audit exposure without the role being audit-heavy.
- Working closely with Managers and Partners on a broad range of assignments and advisory projects.
About You
You'll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification, with experience gained within UK accountancy practice.
You'll also bring:
- Strong accounts preparation experience within practice.
- Some audit exposure or an interest in supporting audit assignments when required.
- Strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- The ability to manage your own workload while working collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.
- Experience using cloud accounting and audit software such as Xero, CaseWare or similar would be advantageous.
What's On Offer?
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Hybrid working (one day per week from home).
- A genuinely supportive and collaborative culture.
- Clear progression with a defined route towards Assistant Manager and beyond.
- Exposure to a broad and interesting client portfolio, from owner-managed businesses through to larger corporate organisations and charities.
- Ongoing professional development and mentoring from experienced Managers and Partners.
- Employee Assistance Programme.
- Retail and lifestyle discounts through a comprehensive benefits platform.
If you're looking for a firm where you'll be more than just a number, where your development is genuinely invested in and your contribution is recognised, I'd be delighted to tell you more.
