We are working with a well-established and growing accountancy practice in Tunbridge Wells who are looking to recruit an experienced Accounts & Tax Manager to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified (or qualified by experience) accountant looking to take ownership of a varied client portfolio within a supportive and forward-thinking firm.
The Role
You will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing high-quality accounting and tax services, and building strong client relationships.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a portfolio of clients across accounts and tax
- Reviewing statutory accounts and tax returns
- Leading client meetings and acting as a trusted advisor
- Overseeing workflow, delegating to junior staff and reviewing their work
- Ensuring compliance with HMRC and Companies House requirements
- Supporting clients with year-end processes (including P11Ds and related filings)
- Driving efficiency and maintaining high service standards
- Mentoring and developing junior members of the team
The Candidate
We are looking for someone with strong practice experience who can confidently manage both clients and workload.
You will ideally have:
- ACA / ACCA qualified or qualified by experience
- Previous experience managing a portfolio within an accountancy practice
- Strong knowledge of accounts and tax compliance
- Experience using software such as Xero and/or Sage
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload effectively
Audit experience is beneficial but not essential.
The Package
- Salary: £47,000 – £51,000 (depending on experience)
- 25 days holiday + bank holidays
