Transport Administrator Job Overview
We are recruiting a Transport Administrator / Transport Admin Assistant to join a leading logistics and supply chain operation in Robertsbridge. This is an excellent entry-level logistics role offering full training, ideal for candidates seeking a career in transport planning, administration, freight operations, haulage, distribution, and logistics coordination.
Key Responsibilities – Transport Admin / Logistics Assistant
- Supervising loading of lorries to ensure safe and efficient dispatch
- Monitoring inbound deliveries, shipments, and goods inwards
- Assisting the Transport Supervisor / Transport Manager with nightly operations
- Completing transport administration, data entry, and logistics paperwork
- Managing transport documents, delivery notes, manifests, and compliance paperwork
- Using vehicle tracking systems, GPS tracking, and fleet management software
- Monitoring driver routes, driver progress, and delivery schedules
- Providing driver briefings, debriefings, and shift instructions
- Supporting transport operations, distribution planning, and depot coordination
- Responding to delays, transport issues, and logistics emergencies
Skills and Experience Required
- Strong organisational skills, and attention to detail
- Good communication skills – interacting with drivers, warehouse staff, and supervisors
- Basic IT skills, Microsoft Office, transport systems, and data entry
- Ability to work in a fast-paced logistics / transport environment
- Interest in logistics, supply chain, transport planning, fleet operations, or warehouse distribution
- Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to night shift work
