Administrator – R&D Team Support
Location: Loughborough
Salary: £30,000- £37,000 (depending on experience)
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded and design-led manufacturing business as an Administrator within the Research & Development team. This role offers the chance to work closely with product designers and gain valuable exposure to product development, compliance, and certification processes across a range of household products.
The Role
You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the R&D function by providing proactive and organised administrative support. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers, you will help keep projects moving efficiently while maintaining accurate documentation and compliance records.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day administrative tasks, including placing orders for stock and product samples from UK and international suppliers
- Prepare and maintain spreadsheets, reports, and internal documentation
- Coordinate with suppliers, testing labs, and internal departments to support project progress
- Track project milestones and ensure deadlines are met
- Maintain and organise technical files, compliance documentation, and records
- Monitor and file test reports, certificates, and supplier documentation
- Support product testing and certification processes (e.g. UKCA, CE, UL)
- Assist with regulatory requirements (e.g. WEEE, ERP)
- Contribute to the review of product specifications and materials for compliance
About You
Essential:
- Top notch academics essential!
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using Microsoft Excel and Word
- Interest in product design, manufacturing, or compliance
Desirable:
- Awareness of product safety or regulatory standards
- Experience with product testing or certification processes
- Previous experience liaising with suppliers or laboratories
