Wakefield Council are looking for a dedicated Administrator to join the Safeguarding and Reviewing Unit Administration Team within the Children and Young People’s Service. This role is based at the Five Towns Resource Centre in Castleford and offers a dynamic work environment where you will provide essential support to the Independent Reviewing Officers.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Provide live minute-taking during reviews and meetings, ensuring accurate documentation and distribution to attendees post-event.
- Manage electronic diaries, send out meeting invitations, and handle data entry using Microsoft Office and a dedicated social care recording system.
- Address enquiries from the public and professionals both over the phone and in person, maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
- Occasionally support Independent Reviewing Officers at alternative venues across the Wakefield area, with transport arrangements provided from Castleford.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience in minute-taking is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information, with a clear understanding of data protection principles.
- Emotional resilience to work with distressing subject matter related to children and safeguarding.
