Randstad Care
Ready to Step into Leadership? Become an Advanced Practitioner.
Role: Advanced Practitioner (Court / Child Protection / Safeguarding)
Location: North Tyneside Council
Pay Rate: £34.45 per hour
Reports to: Team Manager
If you are a Senior Social Worker ready to transition into management, or an experienced Advanced Practitioner looking for a role that perfectly balances complex clinical practice with leadership development, this is your next step.
North Tyneside Council is looking for a powerhouse Advanced Practitioner to join our dedicated Court and Child Protection team. This isn't just a case-holding role-it is a vital leadership position where you will shape the team's culture, mentor staff, and directly deputize for the Team Manager.
Why This Role Will Fast-Track Your Career
This post is designed to bridge the gap between frontline practice and senior management. You will get the best of both worlds: maintaining your clinical expertise while taking on distinct management responsibilities.
-
True Leadership Experience: You will regularly step up to deputize for the Team Manager, giving you the direct management exposure needed for future promotion.
-
A Culture of Excellence: You will be the team's practice champion-modelling high standards, leading group supervision, and running skill-development sessions.
-
Autonomy & Influence: Instead of just attending meetings, you will lead them. You will take the chair for Strategy Meetings, Child in Need (CIN) Reviews, and critical PLO processes.
Your Key Responsibilities
-
Expert Assessments: Lead on specialized, complex assessment pieces, including comprehensive parenting, sibling, and risk assessments.
-
Strategic Case Holding: Manage a highly focused, complex caseload that utilizes your expert clinical judgment.
-
Quality Assurance: Complete case file audits and monitor team data and compliance to ensure outstanding outcomes for children.
-
Team Development: Foster a reflective learning environment by mentoring less experienced staff and facilitating group supervision.
What We Are Looking For
-
A qualified, Social Work England-registered professional with deep experience in Court work, PLO, and statutory Child Protection.
-
An aspiring or proven leader who knows what "good practice" looks like and has the communication skills to mentor others.
-
A confident chair who can command a room, manage multi-agency dynamics, and keep complex meetings strictly focused on the child's best interests.
-
A detail-oriented practitioner who understands the value of robust auditing and data compliance.
What's on Offer?
-
A highly competitive rate of £34.45 per hour.
-
A supportive management structure dedicated to your personal career progression.
-
The chance to work within a progressive, forward-thinking local authority.
Take the lead in North Tyneside.
