AI Engineer
Central London – 3-4 Days Onsite – Up to £100,000 + Bonus
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-growing financial services business that has built its technology function with a modern, cloud-first approach. With very little legacy technology and continued investment in engineering excellence, the organisation is now placing AI at the centre of its technology strategy.
As an AI Engineer, you'll play a key role in designing and delivering innovative AI solutions that support business growth and improve engineering capability across the organisation. Working closely with engineering teams, product stakeholders and senior leadership, you'll help turn cutting-edge AI technologies into real-world business outcomes.
The company has invested heavily in creating a collaborative and high-performing culture, with teams spending 3-4 days per week together in a modern Central London office.
What You'll Be Doing
- Design, develop and deploy AI-powered applications and solutions across a variety of business and engineering initiatives
- Work with Large Language Models (LLMs) and Generative AI technologies to deliver innovative products and features
- Build and optimise prompt engineering frameworks, AI workflows and retrieval-based solutions
- Collaborate with software engineers, data teams and external partners to create scalable, production-ready AI systems
- Help establish best practices around AI development, governance and responsible AI usage
- Contribute to the wider AI strategy and identify opportunities to drive adoption across the business
- Stay up to date with emerging AI technologies and recommend improvements to existing solutions
What They're Looking For
- Experience as an AI Engineer, Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer with a strong focus on AI
- Hands-on experience building and deploying AI or machine learning solutions
- Practical experience with Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI and prompt engineering
- Knowledge of modern AI tooling and frameworks, including exposure to RAG architectures and vector databases
- Experience working with cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience developing scalable applications
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Experience within financial services or another regulated environment would be beneficial
