Job Title: Air Conditioning Installation Engineer

Employment Type: Contract / Self Employed
Salary: Circa £250 per day dependent on experience + overtime
Job Purpose
The Air Conditioning Installation Engineer will install, commission, and test a variety of climate control systems. You will work across domestic / commercial / industrial settings, providing high-quality workmanship while adhering strictly to environmental and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
System Installation & Commissioning
Install diverse HVAC systems including splits, multi-splits, VRV/VRF, and DX systems.
Position and fit components such as pipework, brackets, copper lines, and electrical cabling.
Conduct system commissioning to verify units function efficiently and safely.
Execute mechanical tasks including copper pipe brazing and pressure leak testing.
Compliance & Quality Assurance
Ensure full compliance with F-Gas regulations when handling refrigerant gases.
Interpret technical documents including electrical schematics, blueprints, and site layouts.
Adhere to Health & Safety standards by following Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
Liaise professionally with clients to deliver excellent customer service on-site.
Essential Requirements
Proven experience in installing air conditioning systems (minimum [2-5] years preferred).
F-Gas Category 1 Certification (City & Guilds 2079 or equivalent).
Valid CSCS Skill Card for site access.
Full UK Driving Licence with a clean driving record
Possess own Tools
Right to work within the United Kingdom.
Desirably Requirements:
NVQ Level 2 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning.
Safety certifications such as IPAF (3A & 3B) or PASMA for working at heights.
Manufacturer training from major brands like Daikin, Mitsubishi Electric, or Fujitsu.
Key Skills & Competencies:
Technical Aptitude: Strong understanding of electrical wiring and HVAC mechanical systems.
Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose structural layout challenges or installation faults.
Communication: Clear verbal and written skills for reporting and interacting with clients.
Autonomy: High motivation to work independently on-site with minimal supervision.
