Job Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced AOG / Pharmaceutical Operator to join a busy airfreight operations team based at Heathrow Airport. This role involves the handling of time-critical Aircraft on Ground (AOG) shipments and temperature-sensitive pharmaceutical cargo, ensuring all movements are completed efficiently, compliantly, and within strict timeframes.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end coordination of AOG and urgent airfreight shipments
- Handle pharmaceutical cargo in line with GDP (Good Distribution Practice) standards
- Maintain cold chain integrity and temperature control requirements
- Liaise with airlines, customs, handling agents, and transport providers
- Process airway bills, customs entries, and relevant shipping documentation
- Track shipments in real time and proactively resolve operational issues
- Prioritise urgent and time-critical freight movements
- Ensure full compliance with internal procedures and regulatory standards
Requirements
- Previous experience in airfreight, AOG, or pharmaceutical logistics essential
- Strong knowledge of customs procedures and freight documentation
- Understanding of GDP and temperature-controlled logistics
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent attention to detail and communication skills
- Strong problem-solving ability and proactive mindset
- Cargo system experience desirable
