Are you passionate about art, design, and supporting young people to achieve their creative potential? A welcoming and forward-thinking secondary school in Leicester is seeking a dedicated Art & Design Technician to join its vibrant creative department from August 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a highly organised and enthusiastic individual who enjoys working in a creative environment and helping students and teachers bring artistic ideas to life.
The Role
As an Art & Design Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the smooth running of the Art & Design department by:
Preparing materials, equipment, and resources for practical lessons
Maintaining art studios, workshops, and storage areas
Supporting teachers with demonstrations and classroom activities
Operating and maintaining specialist equipment and tools
Managing stock levels and ordering materials when required
Ensuring equipment is safe, clean, and ready for use
Helping create inspiring displays of students' work across the school
We're Looking For Someone Who:
Has a passion for art, design, and creative learning
Is organised, proactive, and able to manage multiple tasks
Has experience working with art materials, equipment, or creative environments
Possesses excellent communication and teamwork skills
Understands the importance of health and safety within practical learning spaces
Has previous school-based experience (desirable but not essential)
