The Role – ASD Teaching Assistant

As an ASD Teaching Assistant, you will provide 1:1 support to a KS1 pupil with ASD, helping them access learning and engage in classroom activities. You will implement tailored strategies to support the child's academic, social and emotional development while encouraging independence and confidence. You will build positive relationships, monitor progress and help create a calm and structured learning environment. The successful candidate will be patient, adaptable and committed to supporting children with SEN. Previous experience working with children with SEN is essential.

The School – ASD Teaching Assistant

This inclusive primary school is based in Hackney and is just a 6 minute walk from the nearest train station. Catering for pupils aged 3-11, the school is committed to providing a supportive environment where every child is confident and motivated to succeed. Staff work together to deliver engaging learning experiences and tailored support for pupils with SEN, including ASD and SEMH. The school has a well-established SEN provision, supportive leadership team, and has been rated 'Good' by Ofsted.
