Location: Romford

We're looking for a Clips and Leads Assembly Operator to join our clients production team, supporting the manufacture of high-quality aerospace and defence components.

About the Role

As a Clips and Leads Assembly Operator, you'll be responsible for assembling a variety of precision components in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions and customer specifications. You'll ensure all assemblies are completed accurately, efficiently and in line with our quality management system.

Working as part of a dedicated production team, you'll contribute to delivering products that meet the demanding requirements of the aerospace and defence industries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble clips, leads and associated components to engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.
  • Carry out mechanical assembly using hand tools and specialist assembly equipment.
  • Perform visual and dimensional inspections throughout the assembly process.
  • Ensure components are assembled to the required quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Identify and report any non-conforming parts or assemblies in line with company procedures.
  • Complete production documentation accurately and maintain product traceability.
  • Handle components carefully to prevent damage and maintain product integrity.
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Quality and Engineering teams to achieve production schedules.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment in accordance with Health & Safety procedures.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve quality, efficiency and productivity.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, assembly instructions and work procedures.
  • Experience using hand tools and measuring equipment.
  • A methodical approach with a strong commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A flexible attitude and willingness to learn new skills.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within aerospace, defence or precision engineering manufacturing.
  • Experience assembling small or intricate mechanical components.
  • Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes within a regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances and customer specifications.
