An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join a growing and supportive business. Working as part of an established finance team, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting day-to-day accounting operations, and contributing to the continued success of the organisation.
Responsibilities
- Posting and allocating customer receipts, investigating and resolving discrepancies promptly
- Performing regular bank reconciliations
- Managing the sales ledger, including customer accounts with complex billing arrangements
- Overseeing the purchase ledger and processing supplier payments accurately and on time
- Maintaining and updating the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Liaising with colleagues across the business to gather financial information and resolve queries
- Supporting the Finance Manager with additional finance and administrative duties as required
About You
- Minimum of 3 years' experience within an accounting or finance role
- AAT Level 3 qualified or above
- Strong working knowledge of accounting systems, with Sage 200 experience advantageous
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong communication skills and ability to build effective working relationships
- Professional, proactive and able to work independently or as part of a team
