Job Title : Assistant Accountant
Salary : Up to £35,000 (DOE)
Location : Kendal

A well-established and highly respected business based in Kendal is looking to recruit an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join its friendly and supportive finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an AAT studier who is keen to continue developing their accounting skills within a stable and successful organisation.
As the Assistant Accountant, you will gain exposure to a wide range of finance responsibilities while working alongside experienced finance professionals who will support your ongoing development and studies.
The Role
As the successful Assistant Accountant, your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Accruals and prepayments
- VAT returns and HMRC submissions
- Maintaining fixed asset registers
- Analysing financial data and producing reports
- Supporting the year-end audit process
- Assisting with continuous improvements to finance processes and systems
The Assistant Accountant will be
- Is currently studying AAT (Level 3 or Level 4)
- Has previous experience in a finance or accounts role
- Possesses strong Excel skills
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Is eager to learn and develop professionally
- Demonstrates strong communication and organisational skills
