MacKenzie King are excited to be recruiting an Assistant Accountant for an increasingly successful and supportive business, based in Ipswich. As an Assistant Accountant you will take ownership of finance duties and support the overall efficient daily running of the finance function.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assisting with overseeing the accounts function – predominantly purchase ledger and weekly payroll functions
- Monitoring & maintenance of accounts email, ensuring all items are actioned or passed on appropriately and promptly
- Answering incoming telephone calls
- Dealing with internal & external queries promptly
- Month end processes, reconciliations, forecasts & management accounts
- Overall management of the purchase ledger function
- Overseeing the accounts assistant on purchase ledger duties
- Importing payments to the bank
- Processing & checking purchase ledger invoices on verify
- Liaising with suppliers and management to resolve any queries
- Processing weekly, & monthly supplier payment runs ready for payment
- Issuing sub-contractor recharge invoices
- Payroll – weekly start to finish process
- Setting up new employees, ensuring all relevant paperwork has been received, and monitoring
- Verify overtime & bonuses
- Weekly sub-contract profit reporting
- Adhoc accounts & administration projects and duties as required
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Studying towards AAT/ACCA/CIMA is advantageous
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proactive working approach
- Efficient time management & prioritising of tasks
- Team player attitude
- Sage line 50 & payroll
- Excel
