Accountable Recruitment are partnering with a large, well-established organisation to recruit a commercially focused Assistant Accountant to join their team.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking business in a highly visible role, where you will work closely with stakeholders and senior leadership to deliver meaningful financial insight and support key decision-making.
The Role
As Assistant Accountant, you will play a key part in driving financial performance, ensuring accurate reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve profitability and efficiency across the business.
Key responsibilities include:
- Preparing and posting month-end journals, including accruals and prepayments
- Analysing financial performance, providing insight, challenge, and recommendations
- Completing balance sheet reconciliations, explaining variances and risks
- Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes
- Partnering with stakeholders to understand cost drivers and business performance
- Identifying opportunities to improve reporting, controls, and efficiency
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous experience in a fast-paced finance environment
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Confident communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Motivated to develop within finance (study support available)
- A proactive and commercially minded approach
