Assistant Accountant

Our well-established client is currently seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join their busy Head Office team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Accountant looking to progress within a fast-paced commercial environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assist the Financial Controller with the day-to-day running of the finance function, ensuring accurate financial information is delivered on time.
- Involved in month-end processes, transactional finance, and commercial reporting.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounting, budgets, and forecasts across multiple entities.
- Support the purchase ledger, sales ledger, and payroll processes.
- Manage fixed assets, accounts payable, account receivables, asset registry, VAT, and Intrastat.
- Reconcile balance sheet accounts and bank accounts.
- Support month-end processes including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
- Assist with supplier invoices and support payment runs.
- Assist with credit control and customer account reconciliations when required.
- Provide financial support to operational teams across the group.
- Maintain accurate financial records in line with company policies.
- Support year-end audit preparation and assist with ad hoc reporting and finance projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified/Part Qualified with one of the following Professional accounting Bodies (CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
- Minimum of three years’ accounts experience within a busy accounting environment.
- Exposure to working across multiple entities is advantageous.
- Ability to work to tight deadlines within a highly pressured and change-orientated commercial environment.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Proactive and organised with the ability to meet deadlines.
