Assistant Accountant | Outskirts of Tonbridge (Hybrid 3 + 2) | Paying up to £45k DOE
We are recruiting exclusively on behalf of our client for a detail-oriented Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their accounting career within a fast-paced commercial environment, working closely with senior finance stakeholders and supporting key financial reporting and business processes.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports for senior stakeholders and management.
- Maintain prepayments, accruals, fixed assets and supporting reconciliations.
- Support VAT returns and statutory compliance requirements.
- Process payroll submissions, statutory filings and related reconciliations.
- Manage supplier invoices, payments and account reconciliations.
- Provide support across accounts receivable and accounts payable functions when required.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and external reporting requirements.
- Contribute to finance system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
- Support ongoing ERP and finance transformation projects.
The Ideal Candidate
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in an Assistant Accountant or similar finance role.
- Progress towards a professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Strong month-end, reconciliation and financial reporting experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, with Power BI experience beneficial.
- Experience working with ERP systems; Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience would be advantageous.
- Excellent organisational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
- The ability to work effectively in a high-performance, fast-paced environment.
