Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited
Assistant Client Manager / Senior Accountant
North West London – £50,000 – £55,000 + Clear Progression
Not every firm can offer the chance to genuinely influence how a team operates.
I'm working with a growing boutique accountancy practice that's built an excellent reputation through long-term client relationships and outstanding service. With exciting growth plans and a clear vision for the future, they're now looking to appoint an Assistant Client Manager / Senior Accountant to work closely alongside one of the firm's Partners.
This is an ideal opportunity for someone who's ready to step beyond a traditional Senior Accountant role but still enjoys staying close to the technical work. You'll have the autonomy to manage your own portfolio, review the work of others and help drive the day-to-day efficiency of the accounts team.
The Opportunity
This is a varied role that combines technical excellence with leadership and operational responsibility.
You'll oversee the delivery of statutory accounts across a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses, ensuring work is completed to a consistently high standard while helping to keep workflow moving efficiently across the team.
You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior staff and supporting the Partner with the day-to-day running of the department, making this an excellent stepping stone towards Client Manager and beyond.
What You'll Be Doing
- Managing a portfolio of owner-managed businesses across a variety of sectors.
- Preparing statutory accounts while also reviewing work completed by junior team members.
- Supporting the Partner with the day-to-day management of workflow, deadlines and team capacity.
- Ensuring assignments are delivered accurately, efficiently and within agreed timescales.
- Acting as a key point of contact for clients, building long-term relationships and providing practical advice.
- Coaching and developing junior accountants through regular reviews and technical support.
- Identifying opportunities to improve internal processes and enhance client service.
- Working closely with the leadership team to support the continued growth of the practice.
About You
You'll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified (or qualified by experience) with solid experience gained within UK accountancy practice.
You'll also bring:
- Strong experience preparing statutory accounts for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
- Confidence reviewing the work of others while remaining happy to roll your sleeves up and prepare accounts yourself when needed.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise workflow across multiple assignments.
- Strong client relationship and communication skills.
- A collaborative approach and a genuine desire to support and develop colleagues.
- Ambition to progress into a more senior leadership position over time.
What's On Offer?
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- A genuine opportunity to work alongside an experienced Partner and influence the growth of the practice.
- Clear progression towards Client Manager and future leadership opportunities.
- A friendly, collaborative team where your contribution will be recognised.
- Exposure to a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs.
- Ongoing professional development and support.
- The chance to join a boutique firm with exciting plans and a bright long-term future.
If you're looking for a role where you can combine technical work, leadership and operational responsibility in a supportive, growing practice, I'd be delighted to tell you more.
