Hays are delighted to be working with a local council to recruit an experienced Assistant Operations Manager to join their Street Cleansing team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering high-quality public services that directly impact local communities.
About the Role
As an Assistant Operations Manager, you will support the effective delivery of street cleansing services, ensuring operations run efficiently, safely, and in line with council standards. You will contribute to continuous service improvement while maintaining strong relationships with staff, contractors, and the wider community.
Key Responsibilities
- Allocate and manage team resources to ensure high-quality service delivery
- Foster positive relationships within the community and respond to public needs
- Identify and implement innovative solutions to improve operational performance
- Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure full compliance with health & safety requirements.
- Analyse performance data to identify trends and areas for improvement
About You
- Proven experience in managing team operations within a similar environment
- Strong financial awareness, with the ability to manage budgets, optimise resources, and analyse data
- Experience in customer and community engagement, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A full, valid driving licence (required, as travel is involved)
