Portfolio Payroll
Portfolio Payroll are recruiting on behalf of a leading accountancy practice who are seeking an experienced Assistant Payroll Manager to support the continued growth of their Preston payroll function. This is a people-focused role where you'll play a key part in shaping team development, strengthening client relationships, and ensuring the smooth delivery of multi-frequency payrolls.
Role Overview
- Overseeing day-to-day payroll operations across a varied client base.
- Ensuring weekly, bi-weekly and monthly payrolls run accurately and on schedule.
- Reviewing payroll inputs to ensure completeness and compliance.
- Spotting opportunities to enhance and promote payroll services to clients and intermediaries.
- Staying up to date with payroll and industry changes, sharing updates with clients and colleagues.
- Delegating work, reviewing outputs, coaching junior team members and supporting appraisals, billing and workflow management.
Experience & Qualifications
- CIPP Foundation qualification
- Strong technical payroll knowledge across multiple frequencies
- Confident communicator with a collaborative, supportive leadership style
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and internal teams
- Comfortable identifying improvements and driving service quality
