Attendance and Welfare Officer (Part-Time)
Hours: 4 days per week, 9:00am-2:30pm (22 hours per week)
Location: Clapham, London Borough of Lambeth
Contract: Term Time Only
Sanza are seeking a caring, organised and proactive Attendance and Welfare Officer to join a friendly primary school team in Clapham.
This is a key role within the school, supporting pupils and families to achieve excellent attendance, promoting pupil wellbeing, and ensuring that children are safe, supported and ready to learn.
The role
The successful candidate will:
- Monitor and track pupil attendance and punctuality.
- Follow up on pupil absences and maintain accurate attendance records.
- Work closely with parents and carers to improve attendance and address barriers to learning.
- Carry out welfare checks and support vulnerable pupils and families.
- Liaise with school staff and external agencies to ensure appropriate support is in place.
- Contribute to the school's safeguarding and pastoral support systems.
The school are looking for someone who:
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is highly organised and able to manage confidential information sensitively.
- Has experience of working with children and families, ideally within a school setting.
- Is committed to supporting the welfare, wellbeing and achievement of all pupils.
- Understands the importance of safeguarding and attendance in improving outcomes for children.
