1. Role Overview
I am working with a growing accountancy and business advisory firm looking to appoint an Audit Senior into its Epsom office.
This is a permanent role suited to someone with strong practice audit experience who can lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, maintain high-quality audit files, manage client queries and support junior team members.
The role will involve audit, accounts and wider compliance work for a varied SME-focused client base.
2. Key Responsibilities

Lead audit assignments from planning to completion.

Ensure audit work complies with internal methodology, regulatory standards and risk requirements.

Maintain accurate, well-organised audit files with appropriate supporting documentation.

Analyse client accounting records and identify key issues or recommendations.

Act as a day-to-day contact for clients, responding to queries professionally.

Build strong relationships with new and existing clients.

Prepare and review accounts, tax filings, PAYE and VAT submissions.

Ensure client work meets legal and statutory requirements.

Mentor and support junior team members.

Work with colleagues to deliver accurate client files and audits on time.

Plan workloads effectively and prepare work for sign-off.

Use systems, tools and best practice to improve quality and efficiency.
3. Candidate Requirements

ACA or ACCA qualified, although strong part-qualified candidates will also be considered.

Previous audit experience within an accountancy practice.

Experience leading or taking ownership of audit assignments.

Good understanding of audit files, documentation and compliance requirements.

Confident dealing directly with clients.
-
Strong communication, organisation and time management skills.
-
Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant audit/accounting software.

Professional, dependable and self-motivated.

Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
4. Team / Client Base
The role sits within an expanding regional audit and accountancy team in Epsom.
The firm works with a broad SME client base, providing audit, accounting, tax and wider business advisory services. You will have regular client contact and work closely with colleagues across the local office and wider regional network.
5. Progression
This role offers the opportunity to continue developing as an Audit Senior within a stable and growing practice environment.
It would suit someone looking to build stronger audit leadership, client management and supervisory experience, with longer-term scope to progress within the firm.

Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 + benefits
