Insite Public Practice Recruitment Limited
Audit Senior
Birmingham – Hybrid Working – Clear Route for progression
If you're an Audit Senior who enjoys leading assignments but feels your progression has stalled, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
I'm working exclusively with a highly regarded independent accountancy practice that's continuing to invest in its Audit team. They're looking for an ambitious Audit Senior who wants to take ownership of client relationships, mentor junior staff and develop towards Assistant Manager and beyond.
This is a firm where you're trusted to get on with the job, but you'll never be left on your own. You'll work closely with approachable Managers and Partners who are genuinely invested in developing their people, giving you the exposure and support to continue progressing your career.
The Opportunity
You'll lead a varied portfolio of audit assignments for a broad range of owner-managed businesses and corporate clients, taking responsibility from planning through to completion.
It's a hands-on role with plenty of client interaction, technical challenge and the opportunity to develop your leadership skills by coaching and reviewing junior team members.
If you're looking for a firm where you'll gain real responsibility, build lasting client relationships and have a clear route to the next level, this is well worth considering.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Preparing and reviewing audit files, statutory accounts and completion work.
- Identifying audit risks and working closely with Managers and Partners to resolve technical matters.
- Acting as the main day-to-day contact for clients throughout the audit process.
- Supervising, coaching and reviewing the work of trainees and junior auditors.
- Managing assignments to budget while maintaining exceptional quality standards.
- Identifying opportunities to add value for clients and supporting wider advisory work.
- Working on a range of ad hoc projects across a diverse client portfolio.
About You
You'll ideally be ACA or ACCA qualified with recent experience gained within UK accountancy practice.
You'll also bring:
- Experience leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK auditing and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Experience reviewing the work of junior team members.
- A proactive, organised approach and the ability to manage multiple assignments.
- Experience using audit software such as Inflo, Xero or similar would be advantageous.
What's On Offer?
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Hybrid and flexible working.
- A genuinely supportive and collaborative culture.
- Direct exposure to experienced Partners and senior leadership.
- Clear progression towards Assistant Manager and beyond.
- A varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses and corporate clients.
- Ongoing technical and professional development.
- The opportunity to join a firm that values quality, collaboration and long-term career development.
If you're looking for your next move in audit and want to join a firm where your contribution will be recognised and your progression genuinely supported, I'd be delighted to tell you more.
