Audit Trainee
Winnersh, Berkshire
£28,000 – £33,000 + ACA Study Support
A well-established and growing accountancy practice is looking to hire an ambitious Audit Trainee into its Winnersh-based audit team.
This is a great opportunity for someone who has already gained some audit experience within practice and wants more exposure, stronger development and a clear route towards qualification.
You will join a supportive team working across a varied client base, with exposure to the full audit process and regular interaction with Managers, Senior Managers and Partners.
The role
You will support the delivery of statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion, including:
- Audit planning and risk assessment work
- Sampling, testing and substantive procedures
- Preparing reconciliations and audit working papers
- Walkthroughs of internal controls
- Stock counts, minutes reviews and other audit procedures
- Supporting the preparation of audit files and deliverables
- Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Working with colleagues across the wider audit team
The role will involve travel to client sites, alongside occasional collaboration with colleagues in other offices.
What they are looking for
- At least 6-12 months' audit experience within an accountancy practice
- Studying ACA already, or committed to starting the qualification
- Genuine long-term interest in developing a career in audit
- Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with clients
- Good organisation, attention to detail and willingness to learn
- A proactive approach and ability to work well within a team
- Driving licence preferred due to client travel requirements
Study support and development
ACA study support is available, with flexibility around tuition provider. Students can choose between Kaplan and First Intuition, depending on preferred learning style, course calendar and whether classroom or self-study support is more suitable.
You will receive hands-on support from experienced audit professionals and gain broad exposure early in your career.
Working pattern
There is flexibility around start and finish times, with employees able to start between 8am and 10am and finish once their full working day has been completed.
