We are looking for compassionate, resilient, and motivated Teaching Assistants to join Alternative Provision (AP) schools across Westminster, Kensington & Fulham.
This is a rewarding opportunity to support students who may have experienced barriers to education, including social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, behavioural challenges, or additional learning needs. Your support can have a lasting impact on helping young people re-engage with education and achieve their potential.
The Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support students both in the classroom and through one-to-one or small group interventions.
- Build positive relationships with pupils to encourage engagement, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist teachers in delivering personalised learning programmes.
- Help manage behaviour using positive behaviour support strategies.
- Support students with SEMH, SEND, ASD, ADHD, or other additional needs where required.
- Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people in education, youth work, care, sports coaching, or similar settings is desirable.
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable young people.
- The ability to remain professional in challenging situations.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
