Academics are working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Wokingham is looking to appoint a Behaviour Mentor to join their dedicated support team from September. This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting pupils who need additional guidance to manage their behaviour and thrive both academically and socially.
As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with children who may present with social, emotional, behavioural, or additional learning needs. Your role will focus on promoting positive behaviour, building confidence, and helping pupils develop the skills they need to succeed in the classroom.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing 1:1 and small group support for pupils requiring additional behavioural guidance
- Encouraging children to recognise, understand, and regulate their emotions
- Using positive behaviour management strategies and de-escalation techniques to support individual needs
- Assisting the class teacher in creating a calm, positive, and engaging learning environment
- Building positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families to ensure consistent support
- Working collaboratively with the SEN team to implement tailored behaviour support plans
