Job Opportunity: Behaviour Support Worker
Location: Beckfoot Thornton
Contract: Long-term and Short Term supply (likely temp-to-perm) | Term time only

Beckfoot Thornton is seeking a committed and caring Behaviour Support Worker to join the team from Febuary 2026 on a long-term or short-term supply basis, with the potential to become permanent.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Behaviour Support Worker who has experience supporting the wellbeing, behaviour, and learning of pupils—particularly vulnerable learners—within a welcoming and inclusive school community.
Key Responsibilities:

Support pupils’ wellbeing, behaviour, and attitude to learning

Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns in collaboration with colleagues and external professionals

Build positive relationships with families and encourage engagement with school life

Promote inclusion, independence, and positive values in pupils

Track and monitor behaviour, attendance, and safeguarding concerns.

Make welfare calls and support strategies to improve attendance and punctuality.

Assist with lesson planning, pastoral care, and behaviour management.

Organise and support extracurricular and enrichment activities.

Maintain accurate records and contribute to the wider school environment.
What We're Looking For:

Experience working with children or young people, ideally in education
- Experience working with children with SEMH and/or SEN
-
Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection

Excellent communication skills and a supportive, proactive approach
-
A team player with resilience, empathy, and a passion for helping young people thrive
