Our client Trafford council is looking for a Best Interest Assessor to join their Social care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Undertake timely Best Interests Assessments in line with the Mental Capacity Act and DoLS legislation
- Complete high-quality, evidence-based assessments and reports
- Manage a varied caseload, ensuring all work is prioritised effectively
- Work collaboratively with multi-disciplinary professionals and care providers
- Contribute to maintaining internal assessment capacity, reducing reliance on external providers
- Ensure practice is compliant with legal frameworks, local policy, and best practice guidance
- Essential Requirements – Qualified Social Worker, Nurse, OT, or Psychologist with BIA qualification
- Experience completing DoLS assessments within a local authority setting
- Strong working knowledge of: Mental Capacity Act (MCA)
- Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS)
- Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
- Excellent report-writing and analytical skills
