Building Surveyor – Brentwood
High-End Residential Projects | £50k–£70k + Benefits
A well-established Building Consultancy based in Brentwood is looking to appoint a Building Surveyor to join their growing team. This is a project-focused role working primarily on high-end residential properties in central London locations such as Holland Park, South Kensington, and Mayfair. While the team is based in Brentwood, whilst this is their preference, they are also open to a hybrid working arrangement for candidates living in London, as most site visits are in the capital.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Building Surveyor seeking exposure to some of the most prestigious and architecturally interesting properties in the city, including heritage and historic buildings. The successful candidate will typically be on site 1–2 days per week, with the remainder spent working from Brentwood office / hybrid.
About the Role
The workload will be predominantly project-based (approximately 60–70%) and will include:

Writing specifications

Contract administration
-
Project management
-
Dealing with Section 20 Major Works
You will be instructed by managing agents who provide a steady flow of projects. A strong ability to manage relationships and communicate clearly with clients and contractors will be important for success in this role.
About You
-
Minimum 3 years' experience in Building Surveying
-
Experience working on residential or heritage buildings preferred
-
Familiarity with Section 20 Major Works is highly desirable

Strong organisational and specification writing skills

Able to work independently and manage multiple live projects

No specific requirement to be chartered, but would be desirable.
