The Opportunity
An established international manufacturing business is looking to appoint a Business Controller into its UK finance team on a maternity cover basis. This is a broad, hands-on role with strong visibility across operations, offering the opportunity to influence performance, support decision-making and work closely with key stakeholders in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.
Your Duties/Responsibilities
- Lead month-end close, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Prepare management accounts, variance analysis and commentary
- Support budgeting and forecasting cycles
- Analyse performance across cost base, margins and KPIs
- Business partner with operational teams to drive insight and improvements
- Maintain balance sheet integrity and oversee reconciliations
- Support cost control and working capital initiatives
- Contribute to ongoing process and reporting improvements
You Will Be/Have:
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
- Strong management accounting and reporting experience
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting and KPI analysis
- Confident working in a fast-paced, operational environment
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- Hands-on and detail-oriented, with a proactive mindset
- Experience in manufacturing, FMCG or similar environments is advantageous
Benefits:
- Salary: £55,000 – £65,000
- Fixed-term contract (c.12–18 months)
