If you enjoy winning new business, demonstrating technology and seeing a direct link between the effort you put in and the rewards you receive, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.
This is a role for someone who is commercially driven, self-motivated and enjoys being out in the field. You'll have the freedom to manage your own territory, generate opportunities and develop relationships with workshops, bodyshops and distributors across a large and varied region.
The more successful you are at generating leads and converting opportunities, the more you'll earn through an attractive bonus scheme.
The Opportunity
You'll be joining a respected automotive technology business supplying advanced diagnostics, workshop equipment, remote diagnostic solutions and technical training to the independent aftermarket.
As vehicle technology continues to evolve, demand for advanced diagnostics and workshop equipment is growing rapidly. This places you in a strong position to help workshops invest in technology that improves efficiency, profitability and customer service.
This is not an account management role focused on maintaining existing business. A significant part of your success will come from proactively generating opportunities and converting them into sales.
What You Will Do and What You Will Achieve
You will:
- Demonstrate diagnostics and workshop equipment to workshops and bodyshops across your territory
- Generate new business opportunities through proactive prospecting and relationship building
- Follow up leads provided through distributors and existing customers
- Convert demonstrations into sales through structured follow-up and customer engagement
- Build strong relationships with workshop owners, technicians and decision makers
- Provide training and aftersales support to customers, helping maximise product adoption
- Identify market opportunities and competitor activity to support future growth
- Work closely with distributors and internal teams to maximise territory performance
- Your efforts will directly influence territory growth, customer acquisition and your own earning potential.
What We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who combines technical understanding with commercial drive.
You may currently be:
- An Area Sales Manager selling into workshops
- A Technical Sales Representative within the automotive aftermarket
- A Diagnostic Specialist looking to move into a more commercial role
- A Vehicle Technician with strong product knowledge and sales ability
You'll ideally have:
- Experience within the UK automotive aftermarket
- Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics and garage equipment
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- The ability to build relationships and influence purchasing decisions
- A self-motivated approach and desire to exceed targets
- The willingness to travel extensively across the territory
- Time served as a Technician or Mechanic would be advantageous but is not essential.
What You Get In Return
- £43,000 – £47,000 basic salary
- Performance related bonus
- Fully expensed company vehicle, including private fuel use
- 25 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Excellent employer pension contribution
- Life assurance at 3x salary
- Long-term career development opportunities
- A high degree of autonomy and responsibility
About the Company
