Business Development Manager (Marketing)
Fully remote, UK based
Circa £30k basic + uncapped commission (realistic £100k OTE in year one, higher for top performers)
Full-time, permanent
A fast-growing global marketing services company is making its first UK sales hire as part of ambitious UK and US expansion plans. They want a target-driven, commission-hungry sales person who has sold marketing services before, ideally to agency founders.
This is a rare ground-floor opportunity for someone with serious ambition. £100k OTE is a realistic year-one number, it is uncapped, and strong performers are expected to clear it comfortably. As the UK operation grows the sales division grows with it, and as the first hire on the ground you are in pole position to move up and lead as it scales.
The business runs a marketing podcast, recording around three roundtable episodes a week with three to four guests on each. Your job is to fill those seats with founders and leaders from marketing agencies. Once they have been on the show, those guests become warm leads you nurture and sell into, converting them into clients for the company's SEO and link-building services.
Cold calling can be part of the mix, but this is primarily outbound selling over email and LinkedIn, building rapport before any commercial conversation. You will work closely with the podcast host and a growing podcast team to keep the schedule full, with Instantly for outreach and HubSpot as the sales CRM.
They want someone with a couple of years in a sales or BDM role who is comfortable selling to agency owners, either directly or from working in new business inside a marketing agency yourself. A working knowledge of SEO and digital marketing is essential so you can talk the talk and qualify prospects properly.
The day to day:
- Booking agency founders and senior marketing leaders onto the podcast each week
- Running outbound sales over email and LinkedIn, with some cold calling in the mix
- Owning the full sales pipeline from first touch to booked guest
- Selling warm post-recording relationships into paying clients and hitting revenue targets
- Keeping the CRM clean and tracking every touchpoint and conversion
- Refining your messaging and sales angles to lift response rates
What you'll bring:
- A couple of years in sales, new business or business development, ideally selling into or within marketing agencies
- A track record of hitting and beating sales targets
- Confidence selling to agency owners and senior marketers as peers
- A real grasp of SEO and digital marketing
- Comfort managing a high-volume sales pipeline using outreach tools and a CRM
A background in SEO or link-building sales is a plus rather than a must. The non-negotiables are the agency-facing sales experience and the marketing knowledge to back it up.
