Venn Group is supporting a Local Authority in Greater Manchester with the recruitment of a Business Partner – Corporate Collection and Support on a 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Revenues and Benefits professional to take a leading role in the operational management of key services including Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits, Council Tax Support, Welfare Support, Housing Rents, and Accounts Payable & Receivable.
The Role
Reporting to the Business Manager, you will provide direct operational management across Corporate Collection and Support services, ensuring teams deliver high-quality outcomes while meeting performance targets and supporting service transformation initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and developing teams across Corporate Collection and Support services.
- Driving service performance through KPI monitoring, quality assurance and performance management frameworks.
- Supporting business improvement, transformation and efficiency projects.
- Ensuring services remain compliant with relevant legislation, regulations and statutory requirements.
- Working collaboratively with senior managers and stakeholders to improve operational delivery and customer outcomes.
- Supporting workforce planning, resource management and service resilience.
- Promoting a high-performance culture focused on accountability, customer service and continuous improvement.
- Supporting the delivery of accessible services through digital, telephone and face-to-face channels.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Experience managing teams within Revenues, Benefits, Collections, Customer Services or a similar local government environment.
- Strong knowledge of Council Tax, Business Rates, Housing Benefits and Welfare Support legislation and processes.
- Experience delivering service improvements and maintaining performance against key targets.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- The ability to analyse data, identify trends and implement effective solutions.
- A collaborative leadership style with a strong focus on customer service and operational excellence.
